LaLiga: Making History
The league's foundation was laid around 93 years ago, and ever since, there have been many valuable additions to the format and the core clubs. Currently, 20 clubs participate in it. These are supervised by the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional.
However, a total of about 62 teams have been a part of this legacy throughout history.
As far as the game's hierarchy is concerned, the top-tier teams get first-hand entry to the big league. At the same time, the three lowest-placed teams each season play in the Segunda División.
Gaming Format
The game has a similar structure to that of the NCAA single elimination-based playoff system, but it is quite different in scoring. During the 38-match season, which typically runs through August and mid-May, every team is allowed to play just about every club twice, first at home and then once away.
Regarding the scoring, teams gain three points for a victory, one point for a tie, and zero points for losses. Following the score table, these teams are then ranked by total score. Therefore, to put it simply, the club with the most points at the end of the season is the champion.

Twenty affiliated teams play LaLiga, out of which 17 are top and selected directly. The remaining three are selected using the series of playoffs and their performances beforehand.
