NCAA Basketball

Was Michael Jordan a born professional basketball player? Of course not! Everyone starts somewhere. And for the best players in the NBA, it’s often the NCAA where they begin.

NCAA basketball is a college-level tournament held throughout the united states. At the moment, it’s played by 68 teams. These teams all belong to colleges that are a part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

If you are a real fan of Basketball, you would love to be at one of these games, watching the young players take the court by storm.

A Game of True Talent From Around the Country

The NCAA is like a precursor to the NBA. Just like the NBA involves teams from almost all regions of the US, the NCAA does too. The 68 teams play in 4 different regions throughout the country. These regional tournaments draw in a lot of fans.

The popularity of the NCAA tournaments is so much that the topmost sports networks in the US host televised mock bidding or bracket pools for fans. Of course, these contests can never match the thrill of the actual games.

In the end, four teams, one from each region, compete in the national NCAA championship. The location for the final championship is decided beforehand.

NCAA rules are identical to those followed in the NBA or international baseball. In their most basic format, the games involve two teams, each aiming to score a basket in the other team’s court pavilion. The opposing team has to stop them and score baskets of their own.

A Nationally Loved League

Ever since 1969, the NCAA games have been televised at least partially on sports networks and even news networks. Each year, the networks see huge ratings and TRP for these games. At the same time, the stadiums remain packed with rowdy fans and professional coaches looking to draft the next star player from the NCAA to the NBA.

Today, some of the top teams in the NCAA include UCLA, Duke University, University of Connecticut, Villanova, etc. Other colleges have also given the audience some exciting games to watch.

Do you want to see the young champs ace the court in an NCAA basketball game? Don’t wait too long, or all the seats will be sold out.
