Kontinental Hockey League
The Kontinental Hockey League was officially formed in 2008 as a refurbished form of the former Russian Superleague. With four competing nations, namely China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia, the league has carved out a revered place among all the other international ice hockey leagues.

Matches And The Season
Right after the league started, it was split into two separate conferences to make the teams more organized. Each of these divisions has 12 teams, each of which is then divided into 6 zones.
There are four matches against each division and three against non-division. Lastly, there are about 2 games between the non-conference teams.
The matches are fully playoff-based, where the last two surviving teams make it to the finals. Before these two make it towards the Gagarin Cup, the final trophy, they have to compete with 8 teams who made it to the playoffs just like them.
KHL players don’t just come from Russia or the participating countries. They can be from any foreign nation if they follow some restrictions.
