Making Professionals Out Of Junior Ice Hockey Talents

Western Hockey League deals with the junior ice hockey tournaments of the North American States and Canada. It hosts tournaments. WHL is responsible for the management, commencement, and training of players.

Founded in 1966, the league aims to bring forth the best talents out of the institutions and give them the growing space. It is also one of the three major leagues of hockey in Canada. WHL teams often compete in the Canadian Hockey League’s famous Memorial Cup.

Players And The Game

The game involves all the hockey rules, including the ice rink and the skates. But it takes players only between 14 and 15 years of age. It organizes the WHL Bantam Draft that chooses the best contender for the team based on their college performances in ice hockey.

Currently, the selection is made for the 22 teams of WHL, five from the US and the rest from the Canada. The games are all single-elimination based with playoffs leaving us with the two competitors for the finals.
