The Bonsall Education Foundation, a non-profit foundation that funds grants for programs to help ensure a superior public education within the Bonsall Union School District (BUSD), today announced a star-studded lineup of talent for its first annual benefit concert entitled Bonsallpalooza.  The event will be held at the Pala Casino, Spa & Resort in Pala, California on August 7th at 8:00 pm.

The impressive performance roster includes international singing sensation Steve Poltz, who will bring his unique blend of acoustic folk with witty lyrics and storytelling; along with Southern California favorites, Aunt Kizzy'z Boyz, who will deliver their high energy blues and rock-and-roll and Patti Zlaket will round out the evening with her rich soul and funk harmonies.

The proceeds from the benefit concert will be used to help fund district-wide music education programs within the BUSD that were recently cut due to the statewide budget crisis. The school programs will focus on musical instruction, instruments and performance opportunities for district students.  "We view music education as an integral part of our children's education," said Darlene McCabe, President of the Bonsall Education Foundation (BEF),  "With such a sizable body of research supporting a correlation between music education and higher academic achievement, the BEF and the school community collaborated on a solution to address this budget challenge and Bonsallpalooza was born."

 The community has shown great enthusiasm and support for the event as evidenced by the first rate venue and talent participating in Bonsallpalooza. The event will be held in the 900-seat Grand Cabaret Room at the Pala Casino,Spa & Resort. The Pala community is served by the BUSD and the Intertribal Bird Singers will open the concert with a performance and event blessing. "Pala has been a terrific partner in helping Bonsallpalooza become a reality," said Jennifer Smith and Julie Koleszar, Co-Chairs for Bonsallpalooza.  "We are thrilled to have them open the event and the Pala venue has allowed us to attract top talent for this fundraiser."
