The Skydeck & Bridge sections are not available until June 8th, 2009 for select concert evenings. We will not know which nights will be available until June 5th, 2009 as our sponsors enjoy these seating areas as well.
UPGRADES: Upgrade tickets are available in the Reserved, Premier, and Early Entry areas for each night. If you purchase an 11 Day Pass and decide that on specific nights you would also like to be in one of these areas, you will want to purchase an UPGRADE ticket for one of these areas. This can also be done if you have purchased a Single Day General Admission ticket and decide that for that same night you would like to upgrade to one of these locations. Summer Celebration welcomes John Legend for his first Summer Celebration performance. Legend was born in Ohio and at the age of five was playing the piano and singing gospel, but left at 16 to attend college in Philadelphia, and it was there that he first found a larger audience. He was tapped to play piano on Lauryn Hill's "Everything Is Everything" in 1998. He moved to New York after college where he began to build a loyal following playing in nightclubs and releasing CDs that he sold at shows. He also became a session musician, playing and occasionally writing for a wide array of artists, including Alicia Keys, Twista, Janet Jackson, and Kanye West. Get Lifted, his first studio album, was released in 2004. On the strength of hit single "Ordinary People," the album reached the Top Five of the Billboard 200. This led to three Grammy Awards: Best R&B Album, Best R&B Male Vocal Performance, and Best New Artist. Once Again followed in October 2006 and peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and number one on the R&B/hip-hop Albums chart. Live from Philadelphia, sold exclusively at Target stores, was a successful stopgap release that predated John’s current album, Evolver.
Opening for John Legend will be his younger brother, Vaughn Anthony, who has been a backup singer for his older brother. He currently has a six song CD entitled, Mr. Everything, available on iTunes.
